CFIA Awards Lynch Foods with HACCP Recognition Under Four Commodity Groups!

 

 

November 28, 2000 the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) confirmed Lynch Foods as the first HACCP Recognized Manufacturer in Canada registered under the following four commodity groups:

 

Processed Fruit and Vegetables; Meat; Honey and Maple products.

 

“Lynch Foods is pleased to be recognized for both its product versatility and rigorous quality control standards,” said Scott Lynch  “Only 10% of food manufacturers in Canada are HACCP recognized and only a handful have HACCP recognition for two commodity groups.  Achieving HACCP recognition demonstrates Lynch Foods’ commitment to food safety as well as efficient and responsible food manufacturing.” 

 

“The HACCP system at Lynch Foods has a meaningful benefit to Lynch customers as the rigorous and scientific management of food processing activities increases food safety,” said Nancy Wolfe, Lynch Foods HACCP Coordinator.  “It makes everyone accountable because critical control points must be documented and verified by plant personnel.  Processing is monitored at every critical step of the production process through to and including end product testing.  Implementing HACCP has further improved the safety of Lynch Foods’ products while enhancing Lynch team work.” 

 

Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) system is an internationally recognized approach to food safety.  Canada is a world leader in the development of prerequisite programs, HACCP systems (and generic models) and the implementation in food establishments.
